Cabo Nigt Life and Bars Part 2

In my last post I talked about Bars in Cabo, all located in Cabo San Lucas, now I will talk about the Bars in San Jose del Cabo. It is worth mentioning that all Bars in San Jose, as some of San Lucas, are not Bars in every sense of the word, but rather restaurants that become bars at night, with music and live bands.




Let's start now with the newest ...

VIKTORIA. It is an open air terrace with lounges and bar tables. It has indoor air-conditioned but the atmosphere gets out. They play different types of music depending on the day, DJ music, rock band and Fridays there's a Cuban live band playing salsa that gets very good atmosphere. Drinks are by the glass or open bar with a bracelet that you can purchase, go for it. Thursdays are martinis ladies night.

DISTRICT. With an industry trend atmosphere, it is open for lunch and dinner and at night there House-DJ music. It has VIP lounge and terrace for smokers. Most try the beef carpaccio!

ROCK & BREWS. A restaurant bar with excellent atmosphere and decor. Two of the owners are Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS Band, which has made the place becomes very popular. By the way, let me show off one of my photos with them to you. The restaurant is a Hard Rock style handles American style food, and at night the Bar has live bands, with rock music obviously and some of the play list. Tuesdays is ladies night. It has two levels, VIP room and a large terrace...one of my favourites in San Jose...and pizzas are great!

11:11 (eleven:eleven). It's a very small bar on a second floor, decorated with chandeliers and crystal lamps combined with neon lights which makes a unique atmosphere. DJ electronic music and some of the play list. Tuesdays is ladies night which is perfect, so you can go there after ROCK & BREWS which is just next door!

MIXOLOGY. The Secret Bar on Cabo...It is based Speakeasy places (usually of The Mob) of the early twentieth century, the entrance to these secret bars was accepted by having a password to safeguard the identity and privacy of the place. It is opened only on Saturdays. And presents different DJs with excellent house and funk music. In order to get access you need knock the door and wait until they open a slit and ask you for the password. To get the password you need to be added to their page on facebook, where they post 3 clues during the week to help you to deduce it, if you don't do it, you will not get access, even if you tell them the clues. MIXOLOGY is intent on create an atmosphere where experiences happen and senses are seduced.

SHOOTERS. This Sports Bar is a tradition in San Jose. It is a rooftop terrace with a spectacular view of down town and main square. For years it has been the favourite of Canadian and American tourists. Showing all PPV events NFL, NBA, UFC, Boxing etc. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with mexican-amercan menu and daily promotions without time restriccions. Home of the 15 peso beer!

CHILTEPINOS. A sports bar with rock, pop, electrónic, hip hop and latin music.

LA LUPITA. A Taco & Mezcal restaurant bar. Tacos are gourmet style and delicious...I love octopus taco! It has live music some days a week with very good bands and very good atmosphere. Definitely a place to visit!

LA OSTERIA. This is a cozy bar that makes you feel comfortable. The food and appetizers are excellent and it has a good wine list as well...try the ajillo calamari! Fernando the owner is almost always there which guarantees an excellent service. There's live music on thursdays, fridays and saturdays, and they have very good bands.

OXIDOS BAR. This Bar offers different music options. From Rock band to Mariachi and has also karaeoke. It has many promotions during the week. you can see always one of the owners there which guarantees the service that is very good. Excellent atmosphere specially from thursdays to saturdays.

Antros y Bares en Los Cabos Parte 2

En el pasado Post les platique sobre los Principales antros de Cabo, todos ellos ubicados en Cabo San Lucas, ahora les hablaré sobre los antros en San José del Cabo. Cabe mencionar que todos los antros de San José, al igual que algunos de San Lucas, no son en si Antros en toda la extensión de la palabra, sino más bien restaurantes que de noche son bares, la mayoría con música y bandas en vivo.



Comencemos ahora con los más nuevos...

VIKTORIA. Es un bar abierto con una terraza con salas lounge y mesas. Tiene una parte cerrada con aire acondicionado pero el ambiente se pone afuera. Tocan diferentes tipos de música según el día, música de DJ, banda de rock y los viernes son de salsa con una banda cubana en vivo que pone muy buen ambiente. Manejan el bar por copeo o la barra libre con un brazalete que puedes adquirir, te lo recomiendo. Los jueves son de martinis y ladies night.

DISTRICT. Con un ambiente con tendencia industrial, esta abierto para lunch y cena y en las noches hay música House-DJ. Tiene sala VIP y terraza para fumadores. Les recomiendo prueben el carpaccio de res!

ROCK & BREWS. Un restaurante Bar con una decoración excelente. Dos de los socios son Paul Stanley y Gene Simons de la Banda KISS, lo que ha hecho muy popular el lugar. Por cierto les presumo una de mis fotos con ellos. El restaurante es muy del estilo del Hard Rock maneja alimentos estilo americano y por la noche el Bar con bandas musicales en vivo, obvio música rock. Los martes es de ladies night. Tiene sala VIP, dos niveles y cuenta con una terraza muy grande. Definitivamente uno de mis favoritos en San José... ¡las pizzas son deliciosas, prueben la especial Rock & Brews!

11:11. (Once:Once) Es un antro muy chiquito en un segundo piso, la decoración es siglo XIX, con candelabros y lamparas de cristal, combinada con luces neón lo que hace un ambiente único. La música es electrónica de DJ y algo del play list. El martes es ladies night, lo que lo hace perfecto para después del ROCK & BREWS pasarte al 11:11 ya que están uno al lado de otro.

MIXOLOGY El Bar Secreto de Cabo...Esta basado en el concepto de los lugares Speakeasy (normalmente de la Mafia) de principios del sigo XX, donde la entrada a esos bares secretos era permitida solo con una clave o contraseña para salvaguardar la identidad de los asistentes y seguridad del lugar. Abre solo los sábados y presenta excelentes DJ con música House y Funk. Para tener acceso al lugar es necesario tocar y esperar que entre abran la puerta y te pregunten por la contraseña. Para obtener la contraseña es necesario añadirte a su pagina en facebook donde publican generalmente tres pistas a la semana para que la logres deducir, si no lo haces no tendrás acceso aun que les digas las pistas. MIXOLOGY es un lugar que pretende generar un ambiente donde las experiencias sucedan y los sentidos sean seducidos.

SHOOTERS. Este Sports Bar es una tradición en San José. Es una terraza en un segundo piso con una vista a todo el centro de San José y la plaza principal, que por muchos años ha sido la favorita de los turistas americanos y canadienses. La atmósfera es casual, está abierto para desayuno, comida y cena, con un menú de comida americana-mexicana. Transmiten todos los partidos PPV de NFL, NBA, UFC, Boxing etc. Tienen especiales todos los días sin restricción de horario. El bar de la cerveza a 15 pesos!

CHILTEPINOS. Un sports bar que ofrece música rock, pop, electrónica, hip hop y latina.

LA LUPITA. Un restaurante bar de Tacos y Mezcal. Los tacos son estilo gourmet y están deliciosos...amo el taco de pulpo! Tienen banda musical algunos días de la semana con excelente ambiente. Un lugar que definitivamente se tiene que visitar!

LA OSTERIA. Un lugar súper acogedor que te hace sentir en casa, en una terraza con iluminación indirecta de lamparas que cuelgan de un árbol maravilloso. La comida y las tapas son excelentes y también tienen una buena carta de vinos...les recomiendo los calamares al ajillo! Fernando el dueño casi siempre está ahí, lo que garantiza un excelente servicio. Tienen bandas con música en vivo los jueves, viernes y sábados. LA OSTERIA es un lugar al que definitivamente no puedes faltar!

OXIDOS BAR. Este es un bar que ofrece diferente tipo de música durante la semana. Desde Banda de Rock hasta Mariachi y también tiene karaeoke. Manejan diferentes promociones durante la semana, siempre ves por ahí a alguno de los dueños lo que garantiza el servicio que es muy bueno. El ambiente es excelente sobretodo de jueves a sábado.

RETRO BAR. Es un Burger Bar que también tiene musica en vivo. Esta en un segundo piso y tiene una terraza con una increible vista a la avenida principal de San José. Las hamburguesas son espectaculares, excelentes bandas musicales y ambiente.

SYRIACCUS. Yo lo definiría como un bar ecléctico, Es una bar muy chiquito pero que tiene un muy buen repertorio de músicos en vivo. Desde jazz, funk, house, reggae, salsa hasta rock y pop. El ambiente cambia según el grupo que toque esa semana por lo que puedes encontrar un lugar totalmente diferente de un día al otro. Los días que tienen eventos especiales hay que llegar temprano por que se llena. Tienen servicio de alimentos y las pizzas son lo máximo!

JUST ONE MORE Un bar pequeño con una terraza localizado en el centro de San José, con musica en vivo y un menu con muy buenos precios en comida.

AY, AY, AY Si lo que te gusta es bailar, este es el lugar! Un bar favorito de los locales donde se presentan varias bandas tocando música de salsa, banda y mariachi. Cuenta con una pista grande al centro y tambien hay dias de karaoke.

Y para cerrar con broche de oro...

DANTE'S. Este es mi lugar favorito en San José y al que le tengo especial cariño. Es un sports bar que esta abierto también para comida y cena...la comida es muy buena, les recomiendo las hamburguesas pero sobretodo las mejores costillitas BBQ en Cabo! Lo que tiene mas demanda es la cubeta de cerveza aun que todas las bebidas tienen el toque especial de Flavio y Carlos quienes las preparan. Todos los viernes toca Histeria, una banda de rock en vivo y el ambiente que se hace es buenísimo. Los dueños Edgar y Gris siempre están ahí para garantizar la calidad, los meseros llevan años trabajando también ahi, lo que hace del lugar algo especial en cuestiones del servicio. Mucha de la gente que va son clientes, que como yo, somos clientes frecuentes de muchos años. No olvides reservar tu mesa cuando hay partidos importantes de NFL, NBA, UFC, BOX, Futbol o en eventos especiales por que se llena...Definitivamente uno de los lugares que no te puedes perder en Cabo!
Y recientemente abrieron en el centro de San José el DOWN TOWN PUB de los mismos dueños de DANTE'S BAR, al cual no he ido, pero ya pronto les platicaré que tal está.

Cabo Nightlife and Best Bars

Which are the best bars in Cabo? Which are the famous ones? which are the new ones? which are mild and which are wild? I will let you know everything about it. Most of the bars and night life in Cabo is located in Cabo San Lucas down town. So if you are staying in a hotel in San Jose or The Corridor, I suggest to either rent a car, hire a transportation service or use the Bar Hoppers. If you want to feel free to drink and party, then use the Bar Hoppers or transportation service. The advantage of private transportation services vs. taking a taxi is that you have a private driver that is there for you all the time which is completely reliable, biligual, and the vehicles have all the insurances. Cabs are very expensive in Cabo so the price would be almost the same. So having solving the transportation issue...where to start?


The most famous...
Inmediately come to my mind 3 of them, a tradition in Cabo that you can't miss!

CABO WABO.
One of the owners is Sammy Hagar guitarrist and vocals of Van Halen band, which helped the place to become very popular, featured in MTV, VH1, E channel and other TV channels. Opened 7 days a week for lunch and dinner during the day, and it transforms at night with live Rock Band and DJ. It is not uncommon that people meet Sammy there when he is in Cabo, and may see him in one of his spontaneous performances!

One of the most popular events in Cabo Wabo is Sammy's Birthday Bash on October 13th, that he always celebrates with a few concerts in Cabo. Cabo Wabo has even it's own Tequila Brand that has become very popular as well, it has been awarded in many contests and it is exported internationally. Don't miss the Waboritas. The music is obviously rock and the atmosphere is more adult oriented than springbreaker style. Nowadays there's a Cabo Wabo in Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas and most recently Hollywood...Cabo Wabo is for sure a world famous Bar!

SQUID ROE.
It belongs to Anderson's Corporation Group. As Cabo Wabo it is opened for lunch and dinner, and it becomes completely different by night. It has 3 levels, the last one is an open terrace from where you can see everything. The music is the best of the playlists. If you love the party this is the perfect place, the springbreakers favorite!

The staff creates an incredible atmosphere, sharing shots and offering the famous jello shots sending you high on top!. Among the celebrities who have visited Squid Roe are: Paris Hilton, Floyd Mayweather, Jamie Foxx, Andi Macdowell, Chris Angel, Paula Abdul, Holly Madison, Lil John, Jay Z, Bono, Rhiana, Tommy Lee, among others. No doubt Squid Roe is a Cabo's Icon!

GIGGLING MARLIN.
Same thing, it is opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fishermen's favorite because you can bring your catch and they cook it as you wish. By night it has a very popular dance show and contest, and one of the main attractions is the "Goyo's Challenge" you get hung by the ankles as a Marlin and have to drink a shot up side down. Don't forget to try the famous drink "Skip & Go Naked"


Other bars that you can't miss which are The Most Exclusive at this moment are:

MANDALA
One of the most nobby bars, it has two levels with VIP lounges, dancing floor and flat screens on the walls. Elektro, house and some of the top play lists music, with excelent atmosphere. Definitely one of the most exclusive bars in Cabo.

NOWHERE BAR
With an excellent location on the marina, this bar is another of those who have become very Exclusive. Great music and atmosphere. Tuesday is Ladies Night.

ROSE BAR
Located inside ME Cabo hotel, a trendy bar which offers live music and DJ. If you like elektro and house music, this is the place!


The Most Popular among young adults and springbreakers:

LA VAQUITA with music of the playlist and located in the quadrant where converge most popular bars in Cabo.
PINK KITTY also located in the same quadrant with music of the play lists and DJ.
HAPPY ENDING one of the main attractions is the famous Beer-Pong the music is of the top play lists.


The New Ones:

ABOLENGO. Opened also for lunch and dinner...the food is delicious!!!. They also have a complete mixology menu. With a selected atmosphere and very good location, as is in the quadrant where six of the best bars in Cabo converge.
ROCK STONE. Next to PINK KITTY and LA VAQUITA with Rock music in spanish and english.
CRUSH BAR. just across de street from the last ones is a small bar with a new concept and music of the top play lists.


Very Affordable Bars:
JUNGLE. An open-air bar with very good music, they have a Dollar-Beer promotion on Wednesdays and Ladies Night on Thursdays.
CABO BLUE. It is also open-air and has Dollar-Beer promotion on tuesdays.
BAJA CANTINA. With an excellent location on the Marina, promotions on appetizers and ladies night on fridays.

Among Diversity Bars there is:
CHANDELIER. The only Gay Bar in Cabo with very good Cabaret style shows.


Lastly we couldn't have not mentioned the Most Popular Bars for Locals:
ARRE MANGO. With Latin music for dancing, salsa, cumbia, banda.
LAS VARITAS. With music of Top Play Lists and the only show specially for ladies (strippers) in Cabo.
SANGRIAS. A small bar perfect to the after.
